  FWIW:
  Sony Vaio laptops have such heavily proprietary architecture that it is almost impossible to tweak or try to troubleshoot yourself. If you have a buttload of money and can afford having them on-call, it might be a good buy, but if you ever have a problem, as laptops go, it's a nightmare. I've known 4 people who have gotten the Vaio laptop, and they have never bought another.

    I agree... Sony laptops are not the best and there trustworthiness is in question with me. After the whole spy ware incident and battery recalls the Sony brand is definitely not my first choice.
